As my dad and I strolled into the grandiose marble lobby of the Bank of America, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of awe at the sheer opulence surrounding us. The towering ceilings, the gleaming counters, and the hushed murmurs of transactions being conducted all contributed to the ambiance of importance that seemed to hang in the air like an invisible mist.

We approached one of the tellers, a middle-aged woman with a no-nonsense demeanor, who greeted us with a polite smile. My dad exchanged pleasantries with her as he explained that he needed to transfer some money between accounts.
